19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his first trophy for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid year, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former coach his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought three-set win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks his initial championship after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface since that period of the previous year.
The win also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 victories at 21 distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters together, so to secure a title is really nice," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.
The player's counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had prompted commentators to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was concluded.
However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete positively, supported by an enhanced serve.
The champion came back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five games to take the lead.
Both players traded breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his first professional title, took control to push for a third set.
He saved four early chances in a close third set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the title with a point at the net, with Moutet failing to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
